The Calder Quartet will replace the Minetti Quartet, which will not be able to fly to Hawaii for their Honolulu Chamber Music Series concert on Friday, March 6, at the Doris Duke Theatre.
The Calder Quartet has been called “outstanding” and “superb” by the New York Times. Many leading composers choose them to perform their works – including Christopher Rouse, Terry Riley and Thomas Adès. The group premiered a new work by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer David Lang with Los Angeles Master Chorale.
Inspired by innovative American artist Alexander Calder, they’ve performed at top halls and festivals across the globe including Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, Washington Performing Arts Society, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and Hollywood Bowl.
Tickets are now on sale at the Honolulu Museum of Art front desk, and online here.
